Most databases will give you an option to search only for peer-reviewed articles. You can either check the box to search scholarly (peer-reviewed) journals before searching, or limit your results to peer-reviewed journals after searching. In Ebsco databases, like Academic Search Complete, you could limit to peer review from the search page like this:

 

 

 

Or you can limit your search results to peer-reviewed journals after searching like this:

 

 

 

You can also look up the title of a journal in our Ulrichsweb databases and it will tell you whether the journal is refereed (another word for peer-reviewed):
