Answer

The TexShare Card Program is a cooperative borrowing agreement among participating libraries in the state of Texas. This program allows OLLU students, staff and faculty the ability to checkout books and other library materials that aren't available at Sueltenfuss Library.

How to get a TexShare card:

San Antonio Students: TexShare Cards may be obtained at the Ask A librarian desk at the Sueltenfuss Library. For proper activation, an OLLU Librarian and the card requestor must sign the card. Only an OLLU librarian has permission to activate TexShare cards.

Woodlands Students: Students at the Woodlands campus can ask for TexShare cards at the OLLU office located on the first floor of the University Center. You must present your OLLU ID card. An OLLU staff member will sign your TexShare card to activate it.

RGV Students: Students in the Rio Grande Valley campus can contact the San Antonio campus library at library@ollusa.edu or call 1-800-846-4085 to request a TexShare card. The San Antonio campus will then mail he card to your home address. Doctoral faculty may also have limited amount of cards available for distribution on-site.

Online Students: Online students (residing in the State of Texas only) can contact the San Antonio campus library and request a TexShare card. Texshare cards are only good in participating Texas libraries.

Check-out/Return Materials:

Borrowers must present valid photo identification (OLLU ID, Texas driver's license, etc.) along with their OLLU-issued TexShare Card to the lending library's checkout desk.

Materials should be returned on or before the due date to the library from which they were borrowed, not to Sueltenfuss Library. It is the responsibility of the borrower to know when the materials are due back at the lending library.

Return materials in person or by a form of priority mail if recalled by the lending library.

Borrower is responsible for any charges for late, damaged, or lost materials.

Lending policies are made by the individual libraries that participate in the TexShare Card program. Because of this, lending policies may vary from library to library. Click Here to check the lending policies of all participating TexShare libraries.

Borrowers agree to surrender the TexShare Card to TexShare library staff if requested.

Card Expiration:

OLLU student TexShare Cards will expire at the end of each school term (expiration date is indicated on the card).

OLLU faculty and staff TexShare Cards will expire August 31st of each year.

After the TexShare Card expires, users may apply for a new card. To get a card, students must be enrolled in the current school term; be conducting university related research; or completing previous coursework.
